The MOAS system requires each user to have a least one valid and verified email account.
If you want to send and receive emails through the MortgageMag system you must first establish valid email accounts. If this all seems like over-kill, remember that we have been receiving junk from users for the last 15 years. Out system will allow you to contact all 70,000 users quickly, easily and inexpensively.
The basic system control is your email address. Most interfaces no longer use the `user` name` and instead only use a valid email address. The address is tested periodically and you can always obtain your password by requesting it from the login pages. The system sends the email almost immediately. Please check all your spam boxr4s for the message. We have placed the words MortgageMag in the title of each message we send you.
Your identity
We are not running a `gripe` site. We recognize that everyone has problems. If you share your opinion using the `Opinion` button, please be respectful and state your opinion as politely as possible. We reserve the right to edit all data on our system
1. Login - When you initially login, we require a valid email account as the user name.
2. Forum Access - To use our forums you must have a valid and verified email address.
3. Message/Email System - You can send and receive messages through the MOAS system
4. Periodic Verification - We will periodically send you a message to verify that your login account is still active.
User Name
To join the MortgageMag system you must use a valid, active email address. A verification request will be sent to this address. You must respond to have continued access to the system.
Your email address is the key to the system. Many online sites now use only the email address as the user name to the system. Initially, this will be your user name. After your account is verified you will be able to change the user name. We do not recommend you do this.
Periodically, a verification request will be sent to this address. If there is strange activity on your account we may put your account on hold until we can verify your identity/
Password
This is a 15 character field. You can log into your account using the email we send to you. You can then reset your password anytime. If you cannot access the system, please email or contact the system administrator.
Password Hint
This is just a reminder to you to help recall your password.
Display Name
This is the name that the other users will see. It is also refereed to as your nickname. You can use any name you want but it will still be tied to your email address.
We do not want people using the system who can not be identified. Every input to the MortgageMag system is monitored and tied to a user account. If that user proves to be irresponsible, all their information can be removed immediately. We can also return the information to the system.
Auto Login
When you close your browser, all information about your passwords and user names is erased. When you return to the MortgageMag pages, the system can `remember` the necessary information to continue to access the system without requiring you to login.
Sometimes this feature is not desirable. If you are using someone else`s computer, you do not want to leave them with the ability to automatically login to your accounts.
When you click on the no` button, the system will not create a `cookie` on this computer. `Cookie` is the software name for the file that is written on your computer to remember your login information.
Verification
All your email accounts must be `verified` by the system. When you enter a new email account the system sends you a message to that email account. You must click on the link to reply back to the system that you have received the message successfully.
The problem with putting full email addresses on our web page is that spider servers will take the page and decode all the addresses. We have enormous problems filtering thru the junk mail we receive. If you want to send us a message, please use the CONTACT button found in the navigation bar.
When you click on someone`s name with an email button next to it, the message you enter is immediately forwarded to that person. The system keeps a copy for your review and the message is also saved in the recipient’s message box.
The point of all this is to completely eliminate spam. There will be no spam in your message box. If some did begin sending unsolicited messages we will immediately remove them from the system. We have designed the system with this principle in mind. If a user starts acting inappropriately, we can turn them `off`.
