Chapter 2 - Job Postings

Creating a Job

  This process is not as easy as the original JobMag process but it allows for updates and you can retain the same job descriptions.  You can turn each job on and off whenever you need.  We are no longer going to present jobs that only have a Gmail address.  Please make your descriptions as clear as possible.

The objective of the MortgageMag system is to provide a complete communication package for industry professionals. We have incorporated every currently available tool to help you interact with other professionals. 

The greatest annoyance about most web based systems is the data is presented in several different areas and it is not connected.  All information in our system is interconnected.  Once someone finds your entry they have found everything we know about you. The jobs are connected to the company; companies are connected to forums; forums are connected to contacts; etc.

We have also gone to great lengths to prevent the system from being misused. As you will see, there is an opinion button on almost every data entry.  Anyone can report an invalid or inappropriate content.  If you see something you don`t like these is a system Administrator button [!] available on every page.  You can now report dead links are inappropriate entries.  Most will be suspended until we verify the data.

1. Get a user password

Your email address may be in the system already.  Go to the login   page and use the new account screen.  If the system finds your email address it will automatically email you a login link. PLEASE RESPOND TO THE VERIFICATION REQUEST.  You will not be able to login until we hear back from you.  The process should only take a few moments of your time.  If you miss the first verification you can easily request another.  Check your spam boxes. 2. Setup up your user information

Once you have a user password you change the password    to whatever you want.  Your user name will always be your email address.  If you need to change that address you can use the edit screen.  The system will always send a verification request whenever the user/email address changes.

3. Create a company

Jobs are always tied to a company.  You can create a maximum of five companies. The companies are always public information. Companies can also have products and services.

4. Create a job

Jobs can be turned on and off.  The jobs can have their own contact information assigned.  You can also use the information you created at the user and Company level. This allows you to have single or multiple contact descriptions that can be changed in one place.

5. Create your Email Accounts

To receive or send messages you must set up your email accounts. These accounts are more than just addresses.  The system uses these addresses to maintain a database of messages sent to you and from you. If you would like to be posted every day about changes in the system ( news, jobs, resumes, etc.) then you must have a valid email address. 

6. Ranking

If you want to have your job appear at the top of the list there are three items to consider:

     a. Advertise - When you advertise, your information is automatically ranked higher than those who do not advertise.

     b. User maintenance - Every time you update your information, the system gives you additional ranking values.

     c. Data Completeness - The system provides additional ranking values for more complete data inputs.
